2008 Annual Black Tie Gala:
The annual Reynolds Foundation Gala provides the greater Lake Oconee community an opportunity to participate in the generous giving that is the cornerstone and mission of the Reynolds Foundation. This year’s gala, held on February 1 at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation, was a great success in raising funds for area organizations and individuals in need.
The theme, chosen by the organizing committee – Carolyn Channell, Bebe Mills, Jana Roper and Betsy Russell – was Broadway Lights. The ladies worked tirelessly to create an exciting and memorable event drawing on the glamour and notoriety of Broadway’s most well-known productions, including My Fair Lady, South Pacific and Les Misérables. Exciting live auction items included original artwork by one of America’s great emerging artists, Steve Penley; a dramatic 14-k white gold and diamond ring donated by Aurum Jewelry Art; a private wine tasting for five couples by Classic Wines; a five night stay at the Marriott Ashbourne in County Meath, Ireland; and a golf and spa vacation at The Broadmoor located in Colorado Springs, Co. A total of ten items were auctioned by the master of ceremonies, Bill Dudley.
Funds raised at this year’s gala will be distributed in the form of grants and scholarships and will also go to support newly launched programmatic initiatives of the Foundation, including the Community Organization Resource Center and the Youth Golf Program.
The Reynolds Foundation would like to extend a special thank you to the supporters and attendees for assisting in this year’s fundraising efforts. |

2007 Annual Black Tie Gala:
Since the first gala in 2002, the Reynolds Foundation has enjoyed the support
of the Lake Oconee community at its annual black-tie fundraiser. This year's
event--aptly themed "Mardi Gras"--was both a celebration of the
organization's accomplishments to date as well as an opportunity to share
the excitement of the rebirth and renewed energy of the Foundation with
supporters and the community as a whole.
The close to 200 attendees at the Reynolds Plantation Lake Club participated
in silent and live auctions, dinner and danced the night away to music
courtesy of Terry and the GT's as a show of support for the organization's
new direction. In all, a total of 138 items were offered at auction, donated
by a wide variety of businesses and organizations from the Lake Oconee
community, Atlanta, Macon, Augusta, Warner Robins, Washington and areas
in and outside of Georgia. This level of support is indicative of the types
of partnerships that the Reynolds Foundation is committed to forming in
order to increase their ability to make a difference in the lives of the
people in the Lake Oconee community.
As part of its expanded programs and initiatives, the Foundation will be
hosting and participating in other community activities and events during
the coming months. Stay tuned for more details and be sure to lend your
support as we work together to "strive to make life as it ought to
be for all members of our community". |
