August 1, 2007-- Sponsors and organizers of this year's 2nd Annual Lake Oconee Village
Summer Festival were on hand Wednesday afternoon at Mande Villa in Parkside
Commons to present the Reynolds Foundation with a donation generated from
the June 30th event. This marked the first year that the Summer Festival
would add a charitable component to the fun and entertainment with organizers
designating the Greensboro Dreamers, Greene County Habitat for Humanity
and Reynolds Foundation as the recipients of proceeds generated from the
"party with a purpose". The following sponsor representatives
were on hand for the presentation: Libo Carr Administrator of MCG Medical
Associates; Gary Pike, owner of Gary's Garden Center; Andrew O'Connell,
Senior Vice-President and CFO of Linger Longer Development Company; Jay
Dell and Josh Dickenson, attorneys with Blasingame, Burch, Garrard &
Ashley, PC; Jennifer Zwirn, Branch Manager of SunTrust Bank at Lake Oconee
and Shaun East of Reynolds American Properties and Lake Oconee Village.
The Reynolds Foundation wishes to extend a heartfelt "thank you"
to the sponsors, organizers and attendees at this year's Lake Oconee Village
Summer Festival for their support and this generous donation. |

Lake Oconee Anglers Club Makes Donation to Reynolds Foundation

Keisha Rivers-Shorty, Chef Gerald Schmidt & Ron Mertz |
|
July 13, 2007-- Back in June local culinary icon Chef Gerald Schmidt hosted a cooking
seminar for the The Lake Oconee Anglers Club. The members were so appreciative
that they offered to make a donation to the Reynolds Foundation in his
honor. The group, according to President Ron Mertz, is dedicated to enhancing
the fishing experiences of all of its members regardless of their respective
levels of fishing expertise (or luck). Not only did the Anglers donate
to the Foundation, they have also offered to join our Volunteer network and lend a helping hand with future Foundation endeavors. They are truly
an example of the type of widespread community support that the Reynolds
Foundation is seeking. It doesn't matter the size of the gift, the time
you can give or who you are, the Foundation is pursuing a true total community
involvement model. It is essential to the success of our new programs and
initiatives. Way to go guys and thank you for your support! |
