Reynolds Foundation Programs and Initiatives
|
Strategic Planning Process
Over a two-year period, the Foundation undertook a comprehensive strategic planning process designed to enhance its involvement in the Lake Oconee community through a broader range of programs and initiatives. Through community-wide assessments, interviews and surveys, the Foundation conducted an analysis of current services in order to make a determination of the areas of need in our community. Our goals for this process were simple: (1) to avoid duplication of services; (2) effectively address identified needs and (3) maximize all available resources to the best of our ability. As a result of this intensive process, the Reynolds Foundation is pleased to announce the adoption of four (4) areas of focus: Grants Programs, Scholarship Awards, Community Initiatives and Youth Programs. |
 |
Grants Program
As an expansion of traditional grant-awarding protocols, the Foundation's Grant Program is a means of providing additional support to assist grant recipients in achieving the goals and objectives outlined in their initial requests for funding. (See Grants for details on eligibility criteria and a listing of current grant recipients.) |
|
Scholarship Awards
A continuation of the Foundation's support for youth in the community who
wish to pursue higher education upon graduation, the Scholarship Awards
Program provides four-year, renewable scholarships to high school seniors
from each of the local high schools of Greene, Putnam and Morgan counties.
(See Scholarships for details on eligiblity criteria and a listing of current scholarship recipients.) |

|
Community Initiatives
Created to address community needs in the areas of recreation, stimulation and education, initiatives in this area are designed to utilize and maximize all resources within the community--including time, expertise and support from community members. |
Youth Programs
The Reynolds Foundation Youth Programs are designed to address the needs
of youth in the community in several areas and will encompass a variety
of initiatives, activities and events that involve all segments of the
population. |

CORC Incubator Hub Office--another resource of the CORC for nonprofits & community organizations |
Community Organization Resource Center (CORC)--Designed as an innovative approach to providing much-needed support to
nonprofit and community groups within Greene, Morgan and Putnam counties,
the goal of the CORC is to tap into the wealth of expertise, experience,
knowledge, information and resources available in our community and bring
them together in one place. By providing information and training sessions
on topics of interest to community organizations, as well as access to
volunteers, a resource library of funding sources, meeting and office space
(as part of the Incubator Hub--a model based loosely on the concept of business incubators yet designed
specifically for community organizations), the CORC serves as a centralized
source of support that enables organizations to capitalize on the myriad
of resources available in the community to form partnerships, expand their
range of support within and beyond the Lake Oconee area and assist them
as they continue to serve the community. |
| For the CORC to become a valuable resource, we need the involvment and
support of all members of our community. Click here to visit the CORC Volunteer Information Page for more information
on how you can become a CORC volunteer. |
| The CORC is now open! Hours are Tuesdays & Thursdays 11am-5pm--located
at 1021 Parkside Commons, Suite 102 in Greensboro--behind Publix next to
MandeVilla. |

GCYGC members will take advantage of the latest technology through fun
and innovative golf activites. |
The Greene County Youth Golf Club (GCYGC), a component of the Reynolds Kids Golf Outreach Program, is comprised of fifteen (15) 4th, 5th and 6th grade boys and girls enrolled
in Greene County Schools. The GCYGC is designed around the "Range
of Opportunities" concept that seeks to expose participants to the
"range of opportunities" inherent in the game of golf and brings
an innovative approach to traditional youth golf outreach that extends
beyond instructional sessions to include an effective combination of classroom-based
activities, hands-on projects and instructional experiences--Golf &
Golf-Related Activities (i.e., clinics, instruction and field trips), Real
World Application Projects (i.e., golf green "grass-growing"
experiments; course clay models and guest speakers from various golf-related
professions), and Networking and Mentoring Relationships (i.e., Golf Buddies,
mentors, volunteers and supporters). Through the active participation and
support of volunteers, mentors and "Golf Buddies" , GCYGC members
are able to improve their abilities in a variety of areas--group dynamics,
problem-solving, effective communication and leadership skills, among others.
